School Hotline (1-855-631-4608)
- Every year, all students entering 9th grade will have a body mass screening as required by the Ohio Senate Bill 210
- Parents will be notified of results and referred to talk with their physician if necessary
- Parents are allowed to opt their children out by sending signed a letter indicating such and submitting it by October 1st of that year
School Medication Administration
- If your child requires prescription drugs to be given during the school day, certain information must be provided from you and the physician. No non-prescription drugs such as Aspirin may be given.
- Before any medication may be given at school, parents and physician must complete forms detailing instructions on administration
- Parent must write permission slip in order for child to have cough drops. The teacher will store the cough drops at his/her desk.
School Absences
- The State of Ohio requires all children between 6 and 18 years of age to attend school. It is the responsibility of the parents and student to adhere to the state attendance laws
- The state's acceptable reasons for "excused" absences include:
-Medical Emergency
-Court Appearance
-Family Emergency
-Religious Holiday
- When a child will be absent, the parent should notify the school between 7:30AM and 8:05AM. Upon return to school, the student is required to present a written note to the Assistant Principle explaining the reason for absence. The note MUST be signed by a parent or guardian
Sex Education
- Required for graduation
- Class provided for half the year, worth 0.5 credits
- Classes split up by gender
Drug Abuse Resistance Education(D.A.R.E)
- The Lisbon Police Department participates in the D.A.R.E program to raise awareness in the Elementary School
- Funding is minimal for this program
School Hotline (1-855-631-4608)
- Allows students, parents, staff and community members to anonymously report potential threats of violence, bullying, drug use sexual harassment or any other issues concerning students in the district.
- Joseph Siefke said “The purpose of the School Hotline Service is to give students, parents, staff and members of the community every opportunity to help stop problems before they happen or tell us about an on-going problem they are aware of without having to be identified or get involved with the situation. We ask everyone to write down the toll free number (1-855-631-4608) and keep it handy in case they see or hear something that we need to know about. We want people in the school and community to “err on the side of caution”

Strengths
Lisbon has many services available for children, adolescents and adults with special needs in respect to education. The CCCTC is another strength that is a part of Lisbon, this not only facilitates the high schoolers to further their education, it also serves the adults in the surrounding areas as well. They offer GED classes and you are able to get degrees or certifications in specialties of ones choice. The public schooling in Lisbon is rated excellent and testing scores are proficient to advanced.
Weaknesses
Within the public schooling, there is little education on drug use and their effects on the body. Sex education is lacking due to the fact that it is only provided for one semester and that is all that is required to graduate. Funding for education throughout Lisbon is poor, many educational tools are not provided to the students and costs of books causes children to not have one of their own to take home.
